When & why did you start selling formal wear?
When I first started, I was teaching high school and chaperoned several proms. I was drawn to talking with the girls about their prom dress choices because i loved fashion and sewing growing up. It developed into me wanting to help young ladies learn to choose the best dress silhouette and color to enhance their natural beauty and reflect their personality.

We always recommend planning ahead and shopping early for the best choices.

What is unique about your store?
It is all about the GGM experience! We have individual stylists for each customer most days. The stylists are there to guide you to find the perfect dress! We also have several GGM traditions as well: we give our annual prom t-shirt to the first 250 customers to purchase a dress, each customer gets to sign our wall to mark the occasion, and we register your dress.
What do you love about Sydney's Closet?
We love the fit of Sydney's Closet! It fits more true to size. The customer loves knowing that if she tries on a size 18 that it fits like a size 18! SC is the perfect fit for our curvy customer; they are SO FLATTERING!
Staying up with the trends is vital for keeping the discerning customer happy. SC does a great job of following and implementing the fashion trends.
What characteristic do you most admire in your staff?
We absolutely LOVE our TEAM! They are not only hardworking, but each one of our staff members is diligent to get to know the customer to find out what her expectations are. Although Jennifer and I work hard to train our stylists about designers, dress silhouettes, fabrics, and more, we most admire their kindness and love for people!
What is the best business advice you have been given?
Stay focused on your mission statement and the needs of your customers.

Serving and being kind to a customer is top priority!

Carrie Underwood! She is from Oklahoma and has great style!
What do you love about the 2019 Tease Prom Collection?
We feel like the 2019 Tease Collection is fashion forward and has good silhouettes. We love that Tease has incorporated some metallic fabrics in their 2019 line.
Describe what a new customer could expect while visiting your store.
New customers can be overwhelmed if they have never shopped for formals. At GGM, we strive to make a customer feel relaxed and not pressured. However, we do want our customers to receive help and special attention. We will guide them and offer professional advice so they can find the perfect dress for their special occasion.
