When & why did you start selling formal wear?
1984 Peaches Boutique started as a mom and pop store featuring women's designer clothing. In the mid-90's, we narrowed our focus to designer dresses and have been one of the top prom and evening wear stores in the nation. We have a passion for fashion.
Name two things you would like future customers to know about your store.
I would like our customers to know that we are not only a designer prom retail shop but that we carry dresses for all special occasions like weddings, receptions, quinceaneras, sweet sixteen, evening, gala and red carpets. We have the most fashionably-enthused staff and for each girl that comes in, we make sure that they find the absolute best dress for her.
What is unique about your store?
We house the most inventory of designer dresses as compared to any store in the nation. We house over 20,000 dresses in stock at any time, so you will not have a lack of options to try on.
What do you love about Sydney's Closet?
We love that Sydney's Closet has many dresses in stock so that we can better serve our plus size clients and be able to make their event dates.
What characteristic do you most admire in your staff?
We have a very motivated staff that are the ultimate multi-taskers and the best at what they do!
Which Sydney's Closet dress is your all time favorite? Why?
Our favorite style is TE1910 in the Peacock color. It is a perfect fit and super on trend with this beautiful peacock color and glitter fabric.
What trends are you noticing for prom this year?
This prom year, we are seeing the glitter fabric trend starting to become a favorite again. The prom shoppers are loving the fully beaded and glamorous looks again as well as the always popular and staple A-line dress.
Describe the biggest accomplishment so far for your business.
Our biggest accomplishment has been the expansion of our store. With an overwhelming popularity in the mid-west and an overwhelming amount of our clientele being from out of state, we are so grateful and thankful to all our loyal customers.
What is the best business advice you have been given?
The best advice has been to listen to your staff. We get feedback on ideas on how to improve our store and better serve our customers. We want to make sure that we are always evolving so that we may be most in touch with what our customers are looking for.
Which celebrity would you love to have walk into your store? Why?
Jennifer Lopez. She is such a powerhouse of a woman and her fashion evolution is so iconic. We want all women to feel confident in their own skin and to be able to wear a gown that they feel beautiful in and Jennifer Lopez is a great representation of that.
What do you love about the 2019 Tease Prom Collection?
We love that the Tease Prom Collection is exclusively plus size and that features the top trends for the season. Plus Size customers will be able to find styles that are also what they see their friends wearing and are not limited to just an A-line style. Our customers love the fitted and mermaid looks for prom.
Describe what a new customer could expect while visiting your store.
Right when you walk into our door you will be greeted with the friendliest of sales girls and assistants to help you throughout your whole prom shopping experience. With over 10,000 dresses in stock and a 20,000 square foot showroom, our store is a gallery of the most stunning prom and evening designer dresses.
